Recertification planner

Enter one certification: its methods, level, the date it was signed and your last eye exams. You get every date that matters before it lapses, and what SNT-TC-1A or NAS410 asks for to recertify.

Methods on this certification

SNT-TC-1A recommends five years at most (12.2); your employer's written practice sets the actual interval. Nothing you enter is saved or sent anywhere.

Where these figures come from

  • ASNT SNT-TC-1A, 2024 edition (the 2025 addendum changes none of this): 8.2.1 near vision annually; 8.2.2 color contrast at initial certification and every five years; 8.2.3 vision exams expire on the last day of the month; 10.1–10.2 technical performance evaluation; 11 interrupted service; 12.1 recertification by performance or examination; 12.2 recommended maximum of five years from the date the Certifying Authority signs, expiring on the last day of the month; 12.3 Level III and new techniques; 13 and 14 termination and reinstatement.
  • NAS410 Revision 6 (December 1, 2025): 7.1.2 and Table 7 vision (near vision annually, color perception at least every five years); 8.3.1 expiry at the end of the month; 8.3.2 suspension; 8.3.3 revocation; 8.4 reinstatement; 8.5.1–8.5.3 recertification; 8.6 annual proficiency review; Appendix A.2 Level 3 credit system.
  • Requirements are paraphrased, not quoted. Your employer's written practice governs and may set a shorter interval or more conditions. ndt.support is not affiliated with ASNT or the Aerospace Industries Association.
  • Tracking several certifications? The recertification countdown keeps a list in this browser; eye-exam due dates does the vision exams on their own.
