About ndt.support

Free tools for NDT technicians: the quick answers that come up between jobs, with the source for every figure. Nothing to sign up for.

Why it exists

Technicians keep track of their own certs, eye exams and hours, usually in a notebook or a spreadsheet. The questions are the same everywhere: when does this lapse, how many hours do I still need, which revision is current. These tools answer them in a minute, on a phone, without an account.

Where the figures come from

Each tool names the table or paragraph it uses: ASNT SNT-TC-1A (2024 edition) and NAS410 Revision 6 for certification, and the ASTM, ASME, NRC and NIST documents each calculator cites. They are the published figures. Your employer's written practice is what actually applies to you, and it can differ. Where unsure, check your written practice.

The standards list and the calculators come from TRACE, our compliance software for NDT firms, so both sites give the same answers. TRACE's Code Watch checks publishers every week.

No affiliation

ndt.support is not affiliated with or endorsed by ASNT, the Aerospace Industries Association, or any standards publisher. Documents are named only to say where a figure comes from.

The tiles marked “Related”

Those are for sites and businesses connected with the people who run this site: TRACE, NDT LLC, ndt.events and Midgard Scientific, plus FocalTek Inspection, an NDT LLC client. Nobody pays to be listed, and none of them changes what a tool tells you.
